Position: Environmental Designer - Intermediate
Location: Toronto
Relevant Work Experience: 5 years (minimum)
Career Level: Intermediate Position
Education Level: Graduate of Interior Design or Architecture Program (2 year CAD Technical Degree - minimum)
Certification: BCIN
Applicants must:
- Be able to develop conceptual design for retail and environmental applications;
- Understand the process for taking an environmental design project from the audit phase, through conceptual, to build-out;
- Be proficient in AutoCAD and/or ADT;
- Be able to prepare a set of construction drawings for tender; possess strong technical detailing skills and knowledge of millwork fabrication and construction techniques.
- Must have met the requirements of the Ontario Building Code and is qualified for large building and option for small building qualifications under the BCA/OBC; BCIN.
- Have a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, and how to use these tools to render both interior and exterior spaces; proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Be able to work on multiple projects; be detail oriented; possess strong organizational skills;
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, contractors & internal team;
- Be self motivated and reliable (capable of working independently as well as within a team).
